Doherty demands investment in flood defences despite cost benefit analysis

The government remains adamant that flood defence work will not be carried out in four areas of Donegal because the work would cost more than the anticipated damage. .

Last week it emerged that flood defence schemes planned for almost 30 towns across the couiseveral towns across the country would go ahead at all after the OPW deemed them financially unviable.

The four areas of Donegal on that list are Bunbeg / Derrybeg, Burnfoot, Convoy and Moville.

Donegal Deputy Pearse Doherty says a question mark still remains over these towns and that is completely unacceptable…………..
